Here we are feet firmly planted in our 21st year of this century.
This started me thinking about how we typically approach the arrival of a new year.
Not simply how we (incredulously) assume that within 24 hours we can magically become someone else with superpowers but how we suddenly, buoyed with the collective enthusiasm and fresh optimism, trudge exhaustedly out of one year and launch ourselves spontaneously into the next with renewed vigour? Not to mention the traditional NYE hangover! Because you have "given it absolutely everything" the night before due to the impending abstinence from alcohol being one of your new superpowers. Well it would be wonderful wouldn't it ?
However, for most of us that is not how it goes. For most of us we are happily delusional. We haven't got any new superpowers. We haven't done any ground work. We are just hoping that this year will be different. We are leaving it to powers outside of ourselves to intervene. Well I suggest this year you do something different.
I have put together something I call "21 Things" (being the 21st year and all that). It is a program designed to illuminate your way. We must start believing that we can do more than hope and pray that things will go our way. We have to start peeling back our layers and rediscovering who we really are not who we think we are. What we are capable of without all the wishing, praying and optimism.

I will walk you through a day. We will start with the very moment you wake up, and finish the very moment you rest your pretty little head on your pillow.
We are going to co-create superpowers for you. Let's look at how and why you think the way you think. We can realign and readjust your thinking, feelings and behaviours plus give you tools so you never allow the old, restricted you to resurface without questioning it.
You really are perfect you must believe that. You just need to be aware of the traps we set for ourselves. Without awareness we will never overcome the gilded cage we live in. Years ago and during different experiences often with a high emotional quotient, we created ways of living that protected us and kept us safe, kept us sane. This is a magnificent gift of evolution and it has served mankind well. But we must always be creating and recreating our ourselves - should we not? Would you be happy being the old Nokia when the sexy new Iphone 12 is sitting next to you bragging about winning that interview or landing the next pitch? You catch my drift.
So we will look at our emotional landscape and how we communicate with others through emotions. We will get granular with our emotional language and explore the Classical View of Emotions along with the fascinating NEW Emotional Neuroscience which is so exciting I can't wait to share with you.
We shall do an exploration of your habits and how we track them. Understanding why our habits become a part of us and why they are so difficult to break.
We will end with your evening routine. What you can do for yourself to process what has happened to you during your day. Enquiring questions to illicit the truth for you. Laying you down peacefully at the end of your day in the most conducive way to receive the most curative sleep possible. This end of day experience is so important because if you have a good nights sleep it will serve your memory, immune system and detoxify your brain allowing you to rejuvenate and rise up to do it all again tomorrow.
In short, think of this program as a stocktake of you. I would love to hear your thoughts and I welcome all your comments. I would also encourage you to share this with anyone you know that might need a little bit of reinvention.

Remember be prepared to do this a little differently. Cast aside those lofty end of year questions of resolutions, purpose and goals for now. We will get to them. First, we go deeper into understanding you. We look inside before we look out. We start by cleaning up the inside. Building a foundation of truth and knowledge bringing calmness, clarity, acceptance and understanding.
As we move through the program equipped with these searing insights - you will no longer be able to hide the truth from yourself. You are limitless. You are more than you ever believed you could be. You will inspire others when you bring your inside out. Equally, (don't look away this one's going to hurt) you have the power to shut the whole show down in but a moment, if you don’t stay awake, alert and practice, practice, practice.

Ponder this . . . we will attempt to engineer through the conceptual life of one day the journey that we face every day. We will investigate where our triggers arise and why, how we emotionally deal with ourselves and others, state management, breaking old habits and creating new ones for ourselves.
Your job is to overcome yourself one day at a time
Remember - Sustainable growth is built on purposeful regularity. One small thing done regularly. We must win each day if we want to win the week, month, year.
